Agon Light

Agon Light

Writing C and assembly for the Agon Light, an 8-bit machine with a modern twist. Graphics, joysticks, and a game engine built from scratch.

The Agon Light is a modern 8-bit computer built around a Z80-compatible eZ80 running at 18MHz, with an ESP32 handling video and sound. It is fast enough to be useful and simple enough to understand completely, which makes it close to an ideal machine to write code for.

This is where I work out how to program it in C rather than BASIC: setting up a toolchain, drawing graphics, reading joysticks, and gradually building a game engine.
